The Oregon International Port of Coos Bay, in partnership with NorthPoint Development, is advancing the Pacific Coast Intermodal Port (PCIP) — a state-of-the-art, fully ship-to-rail container terminal on Coos Bay’s North Spit. This transformative project will expand U.S. import and export capacity, reduce greenhouse gas emissions through electrified equipment and rail-based transport, and generate thousands of family-wage jobs across southwest Oregon. The $2.3 billion project includes construction of the terminal and rail yard, modernization of the Coos Bay Rail Line, and deepening and widening of the Coos Bay Navigation Channel to accommodate larger vessels. When complete, the PCIP will serve as the first fully ship-to-rail facility on the U.S. West Coast.
