The Charleston Marina Complex is owned and operated by the Port of Coos Bay. The marina consists of over 400 moorage slips, a six-lane boat launch, restrooms and showers, fish cleaning stations, a number of commercial leased buildings, a commercial grade ice plant, and an 100-spot RV park. The Port is also home to the Charleston Shipyard, a Port owned facility that is privately operated by Giddings Boatworks and Tarheel Aluminum. The Port’s facilities and crews work daily to support the commercial and recreational fishing fleets and recreational boaters. Charleston is the third largest fishing hub in the State of Oregon. According to the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife’s most recent figures, in 2020 approximately 16.8 million tons of commercially caught seafood was landed in Charleston valued at nearly $20 million, providing a significant economic impact in the community.
