The Port of Coos Bay Launches New Website
The Port of Coos Bay launched a redesign of its website, www.portofcoosbay.com, to provide users an easier, more interactive, and more enjoyable experience while using the Port’s online platform. The website has gone through very little change since the 2000's. The outdated design, inefficient back end, and lack of cohesiveness led the Port to embark on designing a new website in the 2nd quarter of 2016.
The new redesign combines the Charleston Marina, Coos Bay rail line and the Port all under one website instead of three individual websites like before. Although www.charlestonmarina.com and www.coosbayraillink.com can still be used to access the website, all pages are now under the domain of www.portofcoosbay.com. This is to provide the user with a comprehensive overview of the Port’s three business lines.
On the Port website, users can stay informed about the latest news, updates, events and get comprehensive information about the Port. The new site features interactive maps showing all Port property and business development opportunities. It also includes a new “Environmental” section as the Port of Coos Bay strives to make this a priority in all our operations. Now users can use the website to share pages that interest them across social media platforms, comment on website posts, sign up for the monthly Port e-newsletter, and submit inquiries or comments.
Finally, contractors can use the “Solicitations” page to submit information to receive notifications on current and future projects. Information about past, current, and future projects can be accessed on the “Projects” page.
