EDUCATION: Graduated Simpson University with a B.S. in Psychology and from the Oregon Institute of Technology with an Engineering degree. During his time in the U.S. Coast Guard, Thomas also graduated from the USCG Boot Camp and Coast Guard Officer's Candidate School. 

HOBBIES: Golf, fishing and hunting 

WORK HISTORY: Prior to working for the Port of Coos Bay, Thomas was a Commander in the United States Coast Guard. He served 30 years before retiring and started at the Port in early 2018. As the Port's Maritime Operations Manager, Thomas oversees the Port maritime operations functions, safety programs, permitting applications, and management and maintenance of Port property. 

FAMILY: Thomas and his wife recently moved back to their home in North Bend after being away for 11 years serving the U.S. Coast Guard. They recently celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary and are the proud parents of four adult children and four grandchildren.
