Current Career Position: Eric is the Coastal Operations Manager for Barnes and Associates, Inc. Barnes and Associates is a forestry and natural resource consulting company headquartered in Roseburg, Oregon.

Education Background: Eric graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor’s of science degree in forest engineering and has earned his Professional Engineering license.

Work History:  Eric served 4 ½ years in the United States Army as a combat engineer officer, and was stationed in Germany, Bosnia and Kosovo. Following his military service, he moved to Coos County where he took a position with Menasha Forest Products Corporation.  Eric still works on portions of the former Menasha lands as well as others across southwest Oregon. 

Civic & Professional Activities:  Eric is currently the vice president on the Oregon International Port of Coos Bay’s Board of Commissioners. He also serves as a trustee on the Coos County Salmon and Trout Enhancement Program Commission, and is a past-president of the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce.

Special Interests:  Eric enjoys backpacking, fishing, crabbing and spending time with friends and family.

Comments:  Eric brings a strong background in project management and oversight that will be useful as the Port of Coos Bay pursues and supports development on the North Spit of lower Coos Bay, continues with the rehabilitation of the Coos Bay rail line and reinvests in its Charleston Marina Complex infrastructure.
