Owner/President of West Coast Contractors, Inc., which is a heavy
and commercial construction company.

Background/Highlights:
Graduated from Marshfield High School. Attended Oregon State
University where he received a B.S./Math.
Work
History/Highlights:
Dave began his career as a math teacher in South Australia, where he
coached baseball and basketball. He has run West Coast
Contractors for the past 29 years.
Civic &
Professional Activities:
Dave is the Port Commission President and represents the Port on the
South Coast Development Council Board of Directors. Currently
serves on the Board of Directors of the Oregon, Columbia Chapter of
the Associated General Contractors. Dave has served in the
past on the Board of Trustees of the Episcopal Diocese of Oregon;
Board of Directors for the Oregon State University Alumni
Association; Board of Directors for the Triangle Lake Center
(children’s camp); and President of the Coos Country Club.
Family Information:
Dave and his wife Barbara have been married for 29 years and have
two daughters – Megan, 23, a graduate of the University of Oregon;
and Emily, 21, a recent graduate of Oregon State University.
Special Interests:
In his spare time, Dave enjoys spending time with his family,
traveling and playing golf.
Comments:
Dave realizes the importance of the Port to the economic development
of this region and the state. His business involves maritime
construction, which places him in direct contact with the water
front and maritime communities. He feels that his construction
background will be an asset for Port development and his business
management experience will be helpful in working with the Board of
Commissioners and staff.
