Dredging is a vital part of sustaining mobility throughout waterways of all ports on the Oregon coast. These also include smaller ports which are usually the economic drivers of their city and region. The Port has partnered with Business Oregon to operate the state dredge, "The Laura", to maintain dredging for the smaller ports along the Oregon Coast. Port of Coos Bay staff will maintain the dredge and provide stewardship for the dredge.
The Port of Coos Bay has partnered with the Port of Alsea to complete dredging for the Port of Alsea marina which is used extensively by recreational users all year round.
